Cedric Kassi, University of Colorado Pueblo

Track athlete Cedrick Kassi recently signed with Colorado State University Pueblo on February 3rd, 2022, drawn by their track program and beautiful location in the Greenhorn mountains.

“What led me to choose Colorado State University Pueblo is the coaches and their capability to make me a better athlete and further my education at the same time,” said Kassi.

Kassi first got involved in the sport at the recommendation of a middle school PE teacher, and took off from there. He’s starred in several jump and sprint events, and currently holds the school record in the triple jump.

“The most important lesson my sport taught me is mental toughness since each day is a constant battle,” said Kassi. “I implement that lesson in everything I do which got me where I am today.”

Kassi hopes to continue his track career in college and eventually hopes to become a professional track athlete.

“My college plans are getting better at what I do,” said Kassi. “Competing at the highest level, I can win nationals and conference [track] for my college and also get a sponsorship with New Balance.”

Outside of his sport, Kassi plans to study communication media while also exploring the other opportunities that Colorado State University has to offer him.
