Mr. Shane Hemby joins STEM department
Going into his seventh year of teaching math, computer science, and engineering, Mr. Shane Hemby joined the Wolfpack.
While at Texas A&M, Mr. Hemby was in the Corps of Cadets and graduated with a BS in engineering. He then worked in pharmaceutical and medical device sales for 20 years before deciding to pursue teaching.
“I wanted to do something that gave back to the world, and I have a background on those subjects, so it just fit to teach those subjects,” said Mr. Hemby.
Outside of school, Mr. Hemby enjoys playing chess and working on cars and machines. He’s been married for 22 years, and because of his love for running, completed a marathon.
Mr. Hemby has a definite opinion about his favorite part of teaching. He said it is “definitely the kids–getting to know them and answering questions they have about navigating life.”
